The assignment we had for today’s class was to start reading the book Deerskin. When I first started reading it I started to get a little confused on who was who. Then we went over it somewhat in class, and I understood it a little more. It was weird to see that some people just had the statue as their cover, and others had the face of the girl. Why do authors do that? Some people said that the cover of the girl symbolized how beautiful they portrayed her to be in the book. I think the cover with the statue and dog, showed that the dog was more important than anyone else in the book. I thought that because the dog was the main picture on that particular cover. I felt bad for Lissar, that girl that got raped by her dad, not just because she got raped by her dad, but because she had to experience rape in general. No girl ever wants to experience that. Her dad’s a creep, because what father would actually think about doing that let alone to their own child? And then he just left her there all bloody. She should defiantly pay for what he did to that girl
Excellent point about the cover and the dog -- I hadn't thought of that!
